Yes, anyone can buy a property themselves. When you use a buyers agent you are getting local knowledge as well as experienced negotiation techniques which will give you an edge over buyers and an overall better result.

Good question. Real Estate agents are employed by the seller so they work for the seller, not the buyer.
A Buyers agent works for the buyer and in the interests of the buyer so are paid by the buyer and not the agent or seller.
